    What’s In A Name

What’s in a name… good question, however you should have the answers before you name your company.  I thought I would include in this post a few points that I read a while ago from the book The Art of the Start by Guy Kawasaki.  I do not take credit for these, only that I allowed by myself the time to read his book; and believe me if you are just starting a business this is one thing that you do not have is time!

    • Begin with letters early in the alphabet - ThreeGears, hmmm… not so good
    • Avoid names starting with X and Z - were good here!
    • Embody verb potential - depends if you say ThreeGear… ing?
    • Sound different - yup, we sound different!
    • Embody logic - it follow our logic!
    • Avoid the trendy - we set trends, in our own minds!

You can find Guy’s complete post on his blog How to Change the World.  And by the way, if you ever do have time again, I recommend the book it’s a great read!
